Funding Options

The team at Ray Backhouse - Lifespan Financial Services together forms a specialist finance broking network that can provide your business with innovative funding options.

Cash Flow Funding

Cash Flow Funding is where a financier lends money against the balance sheet assets, such as stock, debtors, plant and equipment and, in more specialised industries, the goodwill of the business. Cash Flow Funding allows for funds tied up in assorted business assets to be ‘unlocked' to provide essential working capital.

We have developed special relationships with major lenders to provide our customers with a wider range of these types of funding options.

Debtor funding

Debtor Funding (or factoring) is where a financier lends against outstanding invoices therefore reducing the 'cash cycle' of your business and providing freed funds to produce more goods/services. This allows you to get on with your main aim - to operate as a profitable business, not to act as a debt collection agency.

Unlike conventional overdraft facilities, which are based upon the value of real estate security offered, Debtor Funding facilities can grow with your turnover, providing more flexible funding solutions.

There are a number of advantages for businesses to consider debtor financing, including:

  • Freeing up working capital
  • Taking advantage of supplier discounts
  • Remove the need to offer settlement discounts
  • Free up real estate security
  • Finance buyouts and takeovers

Ray Backhouse – Lifespan Financial Services can provide a comprehensive discussion on debtor financing and the options available.

Equipment finance

There are many forms of equipment financing and at Ray Backhouse – Lifespan Financial Services our financial consultants can discuss and help select the best deal for your business needs.

  • Chattel Mortgage - is appropriate to finance goods used for business more than 50% of the time. You take ownership of the goods upon delivery, with a financier able to secure the loan by registering a charge over the goods.
  • Hire Purchase - is simply a contract where the financier (the 'owner') allows you (the 'hirer') the right to possess and use an item of equipment in return for regular payments. When the final payment is made, the title to the goods is transferred to you.
  • Finance Lease - The financier (the lessor) purchases the equipment or vehicle required by you (the lessee) and is therefore, the owner of the goods. We then lease the goods to you under a Lease Agreement, which sets out the residual value of the goods, the term of the lease in months, the monthly rental, and the depreciation rate.
  • Operating Lease (Rental Agreement) - is an agreement to rent equipment for use in your business for a fixed period. Operating Leases are suitable for businesses that constantly upgrade equipment for reasons such as rapid obsolescence. In an Operating Lease, you hand the equipment back to the Financier at the end of the lease term without obligation for a residual value.
  • Novated Lease - some employees can lease a car from a financier using a Finance Lease. They then sub-lease the car to the employer via an operating lease. The employer enters an agreement, which makes it responsible for meeting the payments. This is a good arrangement for those who have the option of receiving a car as part of their salary package.

We also have unique partnership arrangements with a number of experienced and professional accounting and financial planning firms that can provide you with specialist advice for your particular situation or type of business. This network of professional services ensures that your interests are coordinated in a manner that delivers the best results across all aspects of your financial circumstances.

Business line of credit
